K.M, a 58/M from Kasanda presented with: 1. Generalized body itching for 8 weeks 2. Yellowing of eyes for 6 weeks 3. Dark brown urine for 5 weeks
History of Present Illness
The patient started experiencing intermittent upper abdominal pain about 3 months before admission, which was followed by generalized itching, yellowing of eyes, and dark brown urine. He was treated for ulcers and other conditions at a nearby clinic without improvement.
Past Medical History
Hypertension for 7 years, poorly adherent to amlodipine, and a history of 'ulcer disease' symptoms for about 5 years

Medications
Omeprazole, syrups for 'ulcers', diclofenac, ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, artemether-lumefantrine, and a herbal preparation for yellowing of eyes

Produce trader, dealing in maize, beans, and groundnuts, with a history of drinking local alcohol and smoking cigarettes in the past
